a life picked up from the grave
We were late, so we were speeding on the roads for dinner.
my dad, being the usual. overly tense.
the car sped across a crossroad,
and there was a short brief honk.
looking at the side, only realising the light was red
and, turning my head left, an incoming car probably just 5m away.
i had only that brief second.
"ah. so this is it"
your breath just gets sucked, like an empty vacuum hole that gaped.
perhaps, for the next moment the car would overturn.
and we'd be squashed like pancakes with its jam spluttered across the walls.
so when the car went past by a miraculous second,
my mind was dead.
i dont fancy dying on CNY eve, but.
it dawned on me how my life can be lost so.. simply.
now suffering the aftermath of staring into blank spaces.
and seeing the sight of the incoming car replay like still frames in a Video editor.
today, i picked my life from the grave.
