following the reviving popularity of girl groups in japan because of the influence of AKB48, many more girl groups are starting to spring out again.
they ride on this same wave that caught the industry back in 1990s, when morning musume was the in-thing back then.
today i bring Afilia Saga East, an interesting girl group..
i dont exactly find their songs catchy, but for the sake of introducing i've decided to link their first single
I remember telling a friend of mine last week, how it'd be an interesting venture if the members of a girl group venture beyond song, dance, tv and stuff.
because AKB runs their theatre daily, and markets themselves as a new-generation "approachable" idol group, hence they have some edge and difference over others.
well, that was their initial start point. theatre girls, AKB48.
i was mentioning to this friend of mine how it'd be a sellable idea if they serve in Maid cafes or something similar.
then, just this week, another friend linked up Afilia Saga, which really is an idol group based on a chain of Maid Cafes around Japan.
'Afilia' happens to be the cafe franchise, and all the branches link up to form the Afilia Kingdom~!
And while they have songs and stuff to produce, they have roles and duties as cafe idols as well. which simply means you can walk into one of the branches and (may) get to see them working/serving.
(well, provided its the person's working day..?)
but that was the concept. Idols, close to the people and their fans.
Its a cool experimental concept and i hope it flourishes into something.. well. awesome.
Afterall, hey, that was MY IDEA ^.^ just that someone came up with it before i did >.<
PS: OR maybe someone did steal my idea and set up the chain of cafes in a week o.O eheh
