listening to music?
truth is.. i held back on my blog postings again, for not really any reason.
i think, at least to me, listening to music is like..
entering a new, brief, 5 min world.
no, i dont mean listening to songs while doing work, while riding transport home, while stoning around.
its listening, the kind where you shut out the world, when you do nothing, but focus on the piece itself.
usually it only happens for me at home, because only at home am i quite uninterrupted.
and while i was travelling home one day, i realised i wasnt fully appreciating my music like i usually do. the listening experience itself didnt feel as captivating, so i decided to give it a go;
i entered my half-trance while on the move.
i think people around me probably got the shock of their lives, but that too, i did not observe.
i probably do spasms when i listen to my music the way i like. perhaps id dance, or envision strumming the guitar. or slamming the drums.
or mouthing the lyrics like the lead vocalist.
the world passed like a totally alien dimension, and as i got off the bus i was still jumping to the tune.
then i swayed to this charming r&b tune.
into the lift, out and to my home corridors, unlocking the door.
till entering, id just sit and wait for the world to end of on its last note, before i take out the earpiece.
what an experience.
only then did i realise, my brother's at home, and the sound of the running shower from the toilet is quite.. evident.
im not sure how people really listen to music, but i like my way of hearing each note to the best of my ability and having my own interpretation and daydreaming.
daydreaming, what i really do best.
