one of the newely intro-ed singers to me in the past few months was Misia.
i didnt know much about her, and that one song that someone introduced me was quite captivating.. except for the fact that it was used as an Ultraman movie theme song.
still, really nice.. so i brought it onto my blog i believe.. sometime back.
anyway, refreshers never harm, so ill bring back Misia's 星のように・・・ [Hoshi no youni]
i like her really powerful vocals. soo deeply cativating, swoon swoon much~.~
i was told recently that misia sang a very popular song back a few years ago.. so i went searchin for it
this is Misia's "Everything"
deja vu? anybody? it certainly struck me somewhere.. i think this is really familar, not? or perhaps its just way too classic. the whole song, the music.. i was feeling quite touched at the end of the song, totally drawn by it
the next song i bring is also quite an emotional one.. her voice, me thinks just suits this kinda song so well ^^
anyway, heres "逢いたくていま" [aitakute ima]
not sure whats up with the mv.. until i read that its used as a theme song for a drama called jin, with the old japanese society context so the video was made for that.
the following one im bringing up is much more.. complex i'd say. complex, in terms of the emotions involved.
a tinge of sadness and pain, and of nolstalgia, something more darkly themed, we have "In my soul"
very addictive background rhythm that just keeps ringing. the song moves away from ballad styles to a more beat heavy R&B. its totally B for Blues.

next is something not quite her standard type of song we heard, quite unlike the first few.
called "royal chocolate flush"
not just R&B this time, but quite a dance tune to add. i dont think its my usual type of song, because this type doesnt captivate me often.
pardon my biasness, but this kind of music feels skewed towards koreanstyle tho i know quite a few japanese singers do produce such music too.
but anyw i like the video presentation somehow, and that it presents a different side to her, so im introducing it.
and it shows her beauty. :gosh:
she actl has quite a few dance like songs during the early 2000 part. i think thats when koda kumi was quite popular, and the company wanted her to emulate/rival?
check out "back blocks" for an example. im not putting it here cos she gives the koda kumi look and the song isint catching on me at all.
i am okay with kodakumi, so dont misread me as being bias (:
